The wood
The wood of Karelian pine we suggest has many advantages if we compare it to the other wood. This wood grows in the Northern regions of the Russian taiga, the roots of these trees are up to 100 – 150 meters so the wood is much more fluted, it has les branches, the boons of the trees are regular, the wood is much more dense then the other wood and it has better characteristics of protection which guarantees the durability of the articles in any weather conditions.
The wood is being prepared in winter because in that time the process of the metabolism in the trees becomes much slower, the pores of the trees close and the tree saves all qualities of the wood. The low damp ant low temperature of the atmosphere in the beginning of the period of the timber working keeps the wood from fungal and other pests.
The logs are being nicked, the bark is being taken off the logs then they are being parched in the natural conditions of the nature using the ancient traditions and the new technologies which guarantee the durability of the wood. The house made of such logs can stand more than 200 years.
The Karelian wood has very good heat insulation characteristics. For example we give the table of the heat resistance of the other building materials in some lowest temperatures.
